The legal service of criminal defense has always been one of the traditional advantageous business areas of the Institute. We have a criminal defense team. Members are considered to be senior lawyers who are proficient in criminal law, have solid professional basic knowledge, profound academic theory, and have the ability to provide full range of criminal defense for criminal suspects from the perspective of legal procedure justice and substantive justice.

(1) to provide defense for the criminal suspect in the investigation stage: to meet with the criminal suspect; to understand the suspected charges and relevant cases; to provide legal advice for the criminal suspect; to apply for a guarantor pending trial for the criminal suspect; to represent the appeal and charge.

(2) to act as a defender and agent ad litem in the stage of examination and prosecution: to consult, extract and copy relevant materials of the case; to investigate and collect relevant documents of the case; to put forward defence opinions, agency opinions or complaints;

(3) when serving as the defender of the first instance of a public prosecution case: consulting, abstracting and duplicating the relevant materials of the case; meeting and correspondence; investigating and collecting evidence; participating in the court investigation;

(4) when serving as the defender of the second instance of a public prosecution case:

Assist the defendant or write the appeal petition on his behalf; read, extract and copy relevant materials of the case; discover and collect new evidence; participate in court investigation; submit new evidence and written agency opinions to the court.

(5) acting as the agent ad litem of the victim in the case of public prosecution

(6) acting as agent ad litem and defender of the parties to a private prosecution case

(7) acting as the agent ad litem of the parties to the incidental civil action

(8) to present complaints on behalf of the parties at the stages of death penalty review, trial supervision and execution
